Description

A TB cassette, also known as a tuberculosis cassette or TB test cassette, is a diagnostic device used for the rapid detection of tuberculosis (TB) infection. These cassettes typically contain specific antigens or reagents that react with antibodies or antigens associated with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes TB. The test is performed by adding a patient's sample (usually sputum) to the cassette and allowing it to flow through the test strip. If TB antibodies or antigens are present in the sample, they bind to the reagents on the cassette, resulting in a visible reaction line indicating a positive result. TB cassettes are commonly used in clinical settings, particularly in areas with high TB prevalence, for the rapid screening and diagnosis of TB infection. They provide quick results, allowing for timely initiation of treatment and control measures.
